This piece was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, the series being covered here wouldn’t exist.

While we can’t jump to the future to when season two of Quantum Leap will be available on NBC (and Peacock), we do have a nifty new trailer that gives us Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee) traversing the timeline, from 2050 to 1692.

It’s hard to talk about time travel and not mention The Butterfly Effect, the notion that changing even a small part of the past can have unforeseen ramifications in the future. This trailer is no exception, but where and when Ben messes with time too much, however, is unclear. There do appear to be, however, several options, including a 1949 visit to Area 51 as well as new leaps to Egypt in 1961, the Los Angeles Riots in 1992’s Koreatown, and 1962 Massachusetts in the middle of the witch trials.

Ben also gets to punch his first Nazi at some point. Exciting times!

In addition to Lee, Quantum Leap stars Caitlin Bassett (“Addison Augustine”), Ernie Hudson (“Herbert ‘Magic’ Williams”), Mason Alexander Park (“Ian Wright”), Nanrisa Lee (“Jenn Chu”), along with newly added season two series regulars Eliza Taylor (“Hannah Carson”) and Peter Gadiot (“Tom Westfall”).

Season two of Quantum Leap premieres on NBC at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on October 4, 2023, with the episode available on Peacock the following day. New episodes will drop weekly.
